Romantic Genologies – on the Bicentenary of the Birth of Polish Romanticism
Romanticism, understood as the beginning of new thinking about man and the world, was also a revolution in reflection on literature. The creation of new literary genres and creative modification of existing forms of expression was an important harbinger of artistic and ideological changes. The authors of this volume reflect on Romantic genres, look at how Romantics absorbed and transformed classical forms and how they created new genres. They also examine how the genres Romantics developed were continued in later literary periods.
