Oddając do rąk Czytelnika tę monografię, chcemy zwrócić uwagę na jeszcze jeden, ważny aspekt: otóż w warunkach, gdy aktualność obowiązujących paradygmatów naukowych zmienia się sezonowo, propozycja Tadeusza Tomaszewskiego może być przykładem pożytku z trwałości ustaleń opartych na rzetelnej wiedzy. Możliwość odniesienia się do nich (czy to na zasadzie aprobaty, czy negacji) staje się argumentem na rzecz wartości tradycji w nauce.

A collection of essays from various fields of psychology, as well as cultural anthropology, paleogeography and geology, sociology, political philosophy, philosophy of religion, theology, history, oriental studies, cultural studies, lexicography, pedagogy, genetics and archeology – inspired by Professor Tadeusz Tomaszewski`s theory of activity and related to the underlying situational model. The authors demonstrate what contemporary science brings to the understanding of the concept of a situation, and now, nearly half a century after the publication of Professor Tomaszewski`s text (Humans in situation, PWN 1975) what new insights we have about a human being in the multiplicity of situations he or she finds themselves in.
