The book is subsequent Polish-English edition of selected articles of rev. Stanisław Kamiński in the field of methodology of realistic metaphysics. The first concerns the specificity of metaphysical cognition, the second discusses the types of human knowledge, the third characterizes rationalism in contemporary methodology of science and intellectualism in the epistemology of Thomas Aquinas. The last two chapters are more general: they concern the nature of philosophy and the wisdom of philosophy in the context of tasks of sciences. The author indicates the features of metaphysical cognition: realism and objectivity, justification by referring to the subject-matter reasons, the causal nature of metaphysics, its autonomy in relation to other types of knowledge, and finally an understanding and maximalist way of explaining. He also indicates what types of justification and argumentation are not present in metaphysical cognition. As in previous volumes of this series, the book contains a selected bibliography in the field of realistic metaphysics and its specificity, an index of names, helpful in independent study of the issues. With this edition, we receive not only a book for specialists, but also an excellent guide in the field of philosophy (metaphysics), its inalienable tasks, methods and specificity in the context of other types of scientific knowledge
